The Tucaković Building at No. 11 JNA Street (now Knez Mihailova Street No. 13) was designated as a cultural heritage – cultural monument, by the Decision of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Institute Kragujevac, No. 107/1, dated April 26, 1971.

THE TUCAKOVIĆ HOUSE
AT NO. 11 JNA STREET

The Tucaković Building is significant because it was the residence of Prince Petar Tucaković (Serbian Knez Petar Tucaković). It was constructed in the first half of 19th century. When Prince Miloš (Serbian Knez Miloš) built the pavilions around his court, he began regulating construction in Kragujevac, which, as capital, began to rapidly develop. He instructed Sima Milosvaljević Pastrović to build a house at the beginning of Svetozar Markovića Street and Petar Tucaković to build one at the beginning of Palilula, thus laying the foundations of old Kragujevac. The house is a typical building of its time. It is very spatious, with a large garden facing the street. It was built using timber-frame construction. The roof is hipped with a gentle slope, and the roof covering tiles. It is a highly valuable culturtal monument of liberated Serbia.
