The Trenches at Ivankovac, built in 1805, were where the first wave of the regular Sultan's army was repelled. The Battle of Ivankovac was fought under the overall command of Karađorđe, with direct leadership by Duke Milenko Stojković (Serbian Vojvoda Milenko Stojković) and Petar Dobrnjac. The Turkish forces were led by Hafiz Pasha, who died in Niš from the wounds he sustained. The Turks suffered significant losses in personnel, and their weapons, ammunition, and other war materials were seized. They were pushed back from the southern border of the Belgrade Pashalik, towards their starting point, Niš. The Ivankovac monument, erected in 1951, honors the fallen insurgents. It is in the form of a three-tiered pyramid made of stone blocks, with a bust of Milenko Stojković at the top.
