THE BUILDING OF THE RAILWAY STATION
IN KRAGUJEVAC

The Building of the Railway station in Kragujevac was constructed in 1886, during the construction of the Kragujevac-Lapovo railway line. It was built according to the design of standard railway station buildings in Europe, following all European standards and principles, using solid materials. It is academically conceived and decorated with brick ornaments and smooth plastered surfaces, with arched windows and doors, also made of brick.

When it was built, it had a ground floor and an upper floor, which was destroyed during an earthquake in the 20th century. It is significant as an exceptional example of well-preserved buildings from the end of the 19th century, not only in Kragujevac but throughout Serbia.
