The Building of the Old High School in Svilajnac was constructed between 1875 and 1877 for the purposes of an elementary school, but it was immediately after its opening handed over to the gymnasium. It began operating as a higher gymnasium after an extension was added in 1935. It is built of stone and brick with a wooden mezzanine construction. The building has a rectangular floor plan and consists of a ground floor and an upper floor. The entrance is located in the middle of the side and through it, one enters the central longitudinal hallway, from which the classrooms are accessed. In the middle of the hallway, there is a two-flight staircase leading to the upper floor. The spatial organization of the upper floor is the same as on the ground floor. The roof is hipped and covered with pepper roof tiles.
