ĆUPRIJA

The Monument to the Fallen Soldiers of World War I is located in the center of Ćuprija, formerly Marshal Tita Street, now Karađorđeva Street. It was erected in 1922 as a sign of gratitude and remembrance for the citizens of Ćuprija who died in the Balkan Wars and World War I, from 1912 to 1918.

The monument is in the form of a laid parallelepiped, with a plaque inscribed with the names of the soldiers. The middle part of the pedestal is slightly elevated, and on it stands the central monument in the shape of an obelisk. At the top of the obelisk is a sculpture of an eagle. The monument is made of marble, bronze, and artificial stone, with decorative elements such as laurel leaves, a stylized Serbian coat of arms, decorated marble plaques, and the eagle.
