The Monastery of St. Petka in the Village of Izvor was built on older layers, some of which date back to the Middle Ages. Based on its constuction style, the present-day church is associated with the 17th century. The church has a triconch base with two domes - the eastern of which is supported by a combination of squinches and pendentives. A chapel was later added to the south side of the building, constructed during the major renovation of the monastery in the 18th century. It was built using a combination of stone and brick. The windows are very small and framed with a toothed ornament. On the western facade, a stylized male portrait from a medieval rosette - chronologically unrelated to this building - was embedded.
