Along the gorge through which the Županjevačka River flows lies the church dedicated to the Nativity of the Most Holy Virgin. According to tradition, it was built during the time of Prince Lazar (Knez Lazar in Serbian). It has been burned and rebuilt several times. The church was reconstructed using stone and plastered with a mixture of lime and yellow sand. It is modest in size, consisting of a narthex, a nave, and an altar apse. The transept ends to the north and south in undeveloped choir spaces, while its roof section is slightly more prominent. At the intersection of the nave and the transept rises a circular drum on the inside, transitioning to an octagonal drum with a dome on the outside.
The narthex features two shallow, arched niches on both the northern and southern walls. The altar apse is semicircular with a semi-dome. Toward the iconostasis, it concludes with the eastern bay, the prothesis, and the diaconicon. The apse contains a smaller single-section window with an arched top, as do the choir spaces, where the windows are particularly narrow. The floor was originally wooden but was later replaced with stone, except at the site of a grave on the southern side of the narthex. Due to its deteriorated condition, the old iconostasis was replaced with a new one, upon which the icons were restored in their original arrangement.
