PARAĆIN

amidzin konak u kragujevcu, milosev venac, zavod za zastitu spomenika kulture kragujevac

The Archaeological Site Slatina – Turkish Fountain is located in the territory of the Municipality of Paraćin, in the village of Drenovac. Long-term archaeological research at the site established the superimposition of the Starčevo cultural horizon by the Vinča horizon. In the younger Vinča cultural horizon, above-ground residential structures appear, defined by the presence of daub, postholes for wooden construction, and flooring. In the older cultural horizons, semi-subterranean pit-houses were identified. The ceramic material found in the older cultural layer is typical of the early manifestations of the Neolithic in the central Balkans, while the overall cultural-chronological attribution of the finds fully corresponds to the chronology of the Vinča culture.

Due to its complex stratigraphic structure, the Archaeological Site Slatina – Turkish Fountain occupies a special place in resolving issues related to the formation and development of Neolithic settlements at the site itself, as well as the origins and development of the Neolithic in the central Morava region.
