On the left bank of the Resava River in the Village of Medveđa near Despotovac, at the sites of Bedem and Popov Čair, lie the remains of the Roman roadside station Idimum, located on the via publica route (Viminacium - Naissus).
Archaeological excavations of the site were conducted by the National Museum in Belgrade between 1960 and 1962. During these investigations, parts of the Roman road and architectural remains, including baths and smaller buildings, were discovered. Analysis of the findings confirmed that, in addition to the roadside station (mansio), a civilian settlement (vicus) also existed at this location. The movable archaeological artifacts uncovered during these excavations were dated to the late 3rd and 4th centuries.
