In the main street of Svilajnac, near the high school, stands the Church of Saint Nicholas. It was built in 1826 and is one of the oldest and most monumental churches constructed in liberated Serbia. The construction and decoration of this church were carried out by the best craftsmen of Prince Miloš (Serbian Knez Miloš), Jovan Kovač and Janja Moler. The church is built as an elongated structure in the shape of a trefoil, with a tall baroque bell tower on the west side. It is vaulted with a semi-dome. The altar apse and side conchs are semi-circular both inside and outside. The church is covered with a gabled roof. The facades are plastered and whitewashed. A large number of items from the time of the church's construction have been preserved: choir stalls, seating, a gilded wooden chandelier with three circles for 24 candles, and several metal objects. The iconostasis with icons from the time of the church's construction was transferred to the neighboring Village of Dubnica, and in its place, there is the iconostasis of Dimitrije Posniković. The treasury houses icons from the mid-19th century and a gilded chalice, a gift from Prince Resavac (Serbian Knez Resavac) from 1827. The frescoes are newer, painted in 1961.
