The Bubanj Fountain is one of the oldest and most beautiful monuments of old Kragujevac. It was used for supplying the population with water during the Ottoman period. It was built in the 19th century, during the reign of Prince Milan Obrenović (Serbian Knez Milan Obrenović), and its present appearance was achieved in 1922 with the effort and help of the wealthy Bojadić brothers. The fountain is made of stone and concrete, with rich profiling and decorative plaster ornaments. From the street, one first accesses a porch, a gazebo with benches, and concrete steps lead down to the place where water is drawn. The Bubanj Fountain in Kragujevac is a structure created for the needs of a fountain, designed so that people can gather around it.
In the immediate vicinity is Bubanj Lake, which is named after the fountain, as well as the entire settlement in that area.
