The Archaeological site Todorčevo – Strna Žita is located at the southeastern entrance to Kragujevac, next to the main road Kragujevac-Batočina. Through sondage excavations in 1992, it was determined that remnants of settlements from the Starčevo culture period to the time of antiquity existed at this site.
The oldest settlement dates back to the 5th millennium BCE and is associated with the Starčevo culture. A younger settlement is dated to the 10th century BCE, during the Early Iron Age. The most recent settlement is dated to the 3rd–4th centuries CE. The remains of these three settlements, which were vertically superimposed one above the other, are confirmed by finds of huts, fragments of ceramic vessels, stone and flint tools, and, from the ancient period, bricks.
