The Risovača Cave is a very significant site in terms of its archaeological, paleontological, and speleological characteristics and value. It is located in close proximity to Aranđelovac, in the territory of the village Vrbić. Years of archaeological excavations at this site have confirmed that the cave is of exceptional cultural and historical importance. Numerous stone and bone tools, remains of paleo flora and fauna, and flint tools classify this cave into the Upper Paleolithic, indicating it was a settlement for Paleolithic hunters.
ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE RISOVAČA CAVE NEAR ARANĐELOVAC
The Risovača Cave was declared a cultural monument – archaeological site in 1954, and categorized as a cultural heritage of great importance based on the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia on July 21, 1983 (Official Gazette of SRS 28/83).
It is also designated as a natural monument.
